Information Collection and Use
When you place an order with Golden Openings, we ask for your contact information (such as your name, shipping address and email address), as well as certain information pertaining to your business, along with billing information such as a bank account and/or credit card number.
Golden Openings, Inc. uses the information collected only to fulfill your requests for products and services. We do not sell or share your information.
Golden Openings, Inc. does not offer services or sell products to children. Golden Openings, Inc. does not request or knowingly collect personally identifiable contact information from anyone under the age of 18.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Protecting personally identifiable information about consumers is an important part of our business. We share and disclose such information only as described below.

Information security is critical to our business. Together the five major credit card companies established the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as a guideline to help organizations that process credit card payments prevent fraud, hacking and various other security issues. A company processing, storing or transmitting credit card numbers must be PCI DSS compliant or they risk losing the ability to process credit card payments and debilitating fines.
The system used by Golden Openings is certified to be PCI compliant.
All personal information is transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. We store information gathered on secure computers located in a locked data center. The number of employees involved in the management of the data center that have physical access to these computers is limited. We use firewalls and other security technology to prevent our computers from being accessed by unauthorized persons.

It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your Login ID/password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer and otherwise protect the password used to access the Golden Openings, Inc. services.

Shipping calculations within the website are estimates and are typically correct. However, in rare cases, actual shipping costs can differ (usually related to international or rush orders). If this situation arises, we will contact you and work with you directly to identify the costs and confirm the order.
Standard shipping is during the “business week” (Monday to Friday). Non-rush orders put in on Fridays will ship the following Monday.
Taxes and Duties are the responsibility of the customer, not Golden Openings, Inc.
When you receive your Merchandise, please open all boxes immediately and check contents. We must be notified of any damage or other shipping problems when you receive your products. To serve you better, we request that you inspect all your products for obvious defects within 2 days of receiving them.
Merchandise may be returned for a refund or exchange for 15 days from the purchase date if the merchandise is still in “as new” condition. Returns will only be accepted with prior written authorization and a restocking fee may apply. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer and are not refundable. If invalid shipping carrier accounts are provided, shipping costs will be charged to the buyer's credit card. “As new” means that all items must be undamaged and in their original cartons and packaging along with all accessories, documentation, and parts. The product exterior must be intact and unmarked. The original carton must be in another “shipping” box. No postmarks or labels shall be on the original box. Items not accepted for returns include customized products, ribbon and bows, paper products, edible items, electronically delivered content, stanchions, rope, and carpet. Additionally, any services purchased from Golden Openings are non-refundable.
Our ceremonial scissors are guaranteed to cut. (Every pair except the plastic ones). If they don’t cut, that means they have either lost their bend (3 foot scissors) or you are using the incorrect type of ribbon. If your ribbon looks or feels like cloth and a normal pair of desk scissors will not cut your ribbon, our scissors will not cut it either. We sell plain or custom imprinted ribbon that we highly recommend using with your scissors. The ribbon must also be held or secured tightly on both ends, not drooping in the middle when preparing to cut. If your scissors cut a piece of paper, then they cut. That is always a good test. If they do not cut a piece of paper, then we will exchange them up to 6 months from your purchase, provided you did not try to cut cardboard, hair, or anything unusual with your scissors that would harm the blade. Also, they were not dropped, run over, or harmed in any way beyond our control. They must be kept indoors and stored away from extreme heat and cold temperatures. They should also not be submerged in water as they could rust. We highly recommend purchasing a carry case to preserve the life of your ceremonial scissors, as well. If your scissors are not cutting, and it has been less than 6 months from your purchase, please contact us at 1-800-378-3630 and we will help you trouble shoot your issues or get you a new pair. All claims for merchandise lost, stolen or damaged during shipment must be filed with the transportation company.
Liability for claims is transferred to the carrier at the point of shipment
